Anambra has emerged winner of the 2022 South East ANCOPSS Quiz Competition. The state clinched the top positions in the junior and senior categories with Maryam Ekesi of Girls Secondary School, Awka, emerging the winner in the senior category, while Miss Njoku Munachi of Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha, emerged the winner in the junior category.

The competition took place at the All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools ANCOPSS, Mandatory Continuing Professional Training held in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, over the weekend.

Speaking to Sunday Sun, the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, congratulated the students on making the state proud. She stated that the mandatory professional training was in line with the continuous teacher upgrade programme of the Soludo administration.

She expressed appreciation with the South East ANCOPSS for organising the professional training session, which provided a platform for Anambra to demonstrate that Gov. Soludo’s efforts in education are yielding the desired results.

Also speaking, the President of Anambra State branch of ANCOPSS, Mr Jovita Arazu, attributed the victory to the governor’s support, adding that it was his passion and commitment to the education of Umu-akwukwo Anambra that led to the feat.

The South East Quiz Competition is an annual event of the ANCOPSS, where the South East states lock horns to decide their representatives at national competition.
