The Anglican bishop, Diocese of Niger West, Rt. Revd Johnson Ekwe and over seven others, yesterday, sought enduring peace between Umueri community and her neighbouring communities in Anambra East Local Government Area.

Bishop Ekwe, in a sermon at the Cathedral Church of St. Gabriel, Umueri, during a thanksgiving service for the successful election and coronation of Igwe (Sir) Beneth Emeka, as the traditional ruler of Umueri kingdom, urged Christians to always seek peace in their lives and in the lives of their neighbours, which he said, was the only way to make heaven.

The thanksgiving service was attended by  seven Anglican bishops and over 40 clergy, traditional rulers including Igwe Chidubem of Umumbo, Igwe K.O Obialor of Amoka, CN Okpala of Akwueze, GO Ekwealo of Umuoba Anam, G.C Ajudu of Ukwala and Igwe (Prof.) Onuora Nwuneli of Igbakwu.

Other dignitaries in attendance are the embattled national chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye, former minister of Health, Dr. Tim Menakaya, state chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Demian Okeke-Ogene, Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rita Maduagwu and over seven House members, among other guests.

In his homily, Bishop Ekwe commended Umueri monarch, Igwe Ben Emeka for his thoughtfulness in giving thanks to God for his successful coronation, praying God to show him the way and the grace to lead his people in the right path.

In his remarks, Igwe Emeka thanked God for sparing his life and that of his family and for rancour-free election to the throne.
