Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Alhaji Ibrahim Magu, has enjoined youths in the country to imbibe the culture of discipline and integrity in order to be good leaders of tomorrow.

Magu told his audience that imbibing a sense of integrity at the early stages of life remained one of the antidotes for a corruption- free Nigeria society in the future.

Magu spoke, on Wednesday, at an anti-corruption sensitisation workshop for selected primary schools organised by Interfaith Network Against Corruption (INAC) and sponsored by Mac Arthur Foundation.

The event was attended by the Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Sani Zaharadeen, the Catholic Bishop of Kano, Rev. (Dr.) John Nemaza Niyiring and several other clerics and religious scholars  from both faiths in the state.

Magu, represented by the Head, Integrity Desk of the EFCC,  Hajia Zainab Bello, explained the authorities were training its youths in the fight against these vices so as to hand over the anti-corruption fight to them in the future.

He reminded the youths that leadership comes with a huge responsibility , adding there are things a successful leader must not do, one of which is to be  corrupt.

Rev. Niyiring described corruption as a poisonous rat that is destroying the fabrics of the society, imploring the young ones to resist the temptation of vices, both at home and in their respective schools.

Director of the Center for Democratic Training and Research, Bayero University, Kano, Prof. Harnuna Wakili, reviewed the lives and times of the late Mallam Aminu Kano, reminding the pupils that to be incorruptible like the departed sage is a virtue that every young Nigerian must strive to attain when he grows old.
