The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu has restated its call for the return of Ndigbo living in the northern parts of the country following the quit notice by the coalition of Northern youths and the anti-Igbo song being circulated in the area.
The group alleged that Arewa youths would hold rally on October 1, this year, in Kano, saying “only God knows what they have in mind that day.”
The National Director of Information of MASSOB, Mr. Edeson Samuel, in a statement yesterday, urged Ndigbo living in Northern Nigeria to return home without further delay.
He said: “Your host region, the Northern Nigeria has given you quit notice; as if that is not enough, they have started a hate song. What does that mean? It simply means that those calling for peace are wasting their time. You are no more welcome in their land. This is the final call MASSOB will make in respect of Ndigbo leaving the North because an Igbo proverb says that ‘ukpana okpoko gburu, nti chiri ya’, which means that any grasshopper killed by the bird is because it’s deaf”.
He added: “Nigeria belongs to Hausa/Fulani and you cannot change it. The Hausa/Fulani decides what happens in this country. Do you want to be killed again like in May 29, 1966?
“An elder statesman from Northern Nigeria and former Governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa has called on the government not to take this hate song lightly. Also, former president Goodluck Jonathan made a similar statement that the hate song should not be taken lightly by the Federal Government. But Ndigbo whom their lives are at stake are taking this hate song lightly. The Arewa youths have perfected their planned rally come October 1, 2017, and that will be taking place in Kano. Only God knows what they have in mind that day.”
