The House of Assembly election in Osun State has reportedly been characterised by voter apathy.

In the various polling units monitored across the state by our correspondent, low turnout of voters was remarkable.

But Ilesa was an exception as the turnout was a bit impressive.

The National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Adeyemi, who voted at Unit 2, Ward 1, NUD Primary School, Ibokun, in Obokun Local Government Area, attributed the low turn out to the fact that there was no governorship election in the state.

The state PDP chairman, Soji Adagunodo, said the apathy was normal since the presidential, governorship and senatorial elections had been held in the state.
