Ahead of Saturday’s elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ovia North East Local Government Area has accused the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of plotting to disrupt the elections by procuring arms for some thugs.

The plan, the APC alleged, is to scare genuine voters away from polling units, to enable the thugs force people to vote for Omosede Igbinedion, who is seeking re-election to the House of Representatives.

Addressing newsmen at a press conference in Benin Coordinator of the Dennis Idahosa Campaign Organisation, Bishop Imadin, claimed the PDP has been in panic mood since the people resolved to vote for APC candidates.

He urged security agencies to stop the plan of unleashing mayhem during the poll.

“While we are disturbed by the plan, we have appealed to our supporters not to take laws into their hands, but remain law-abiding and go about the electioneering process in a peaceful manner.

“However, we believe the security agencies will take proactive measures to stop the people from carrying out their plans.

“We’ve done our home work by taking campaigns to every part of the federal constituency, and our acceptability by the people is overwhelming; so, we rely on the people’s mandate to win the election and not the other way round,” Imadin said.
