Wole Balogun, Ado Ekiti

David Ayeni, aide to Tayo Adebiyi, chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), who brought the policemen that misfired at the Friday welcome rally for APC state candidate Kayode Fayemi, has cleared the air on the tragic incident that disrupted the campaign event.

The spokesman says that the shooting was an accidental discharge from the policemen who had struggled with some party thugs who had quarrel with him.

On Friday, the misfire from the policemen hit ex-lawmaker Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB), and five others.

The ugly development had also caused confusion between the APC and PDP, with the APC accusing Governor Ayo Fayose of masterminding the shooting.
