Former Chief of Staff to Abia State governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Mascot Kalu has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for making the Not-Too-Young-To-Run bill a reality by signing the bill into law.

According to him, the signing into law of the much-awaited bill is a re-affirmation of President Buhari’s efforts in uplifting Nigerian youths.

In a statement issued by the politician’s media office on Friday, Kalu urged youths to embrace the new law by vying for elective positions in the 2019 general elections.
He said, “the signing into law of the Not-Too-Young-To-Run bill is not only in the interest of the young people but Nigeria at large.

“The time is now for the youths to live up to expectations.
“We have no excuse not to contest in forthcoming elections, this is a good opportunity for more youths to participate actively in politics.

“I have no doubt in the capacity of the youths to take Nigeria to greater heights.

“Let us continue to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination to make Nigeria a prosperous nation.

“With the collective support of all and sundry, Nigeria will take its rightful place in the comity of nations”.
Kalu, who is also an aspirant for a seat in the House of Representatives (Aba North/Aba South) under the platform of the APC,  charged politicians to embrace patriotism and selflessness in their pursuits, stressing that national interest should be placed above selfish ambitions.

He equally admonished members of the APC to respect party decisions at all times, adding that the party is supreme.
