Leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Committee of the Presidential Campaign Council, Lagos State chapter, also known as ‘Excellent Youths’, yesterday, paid a consultative visit to former Abia State governor, Dr. Orji Kalu, with the aim of attaining a landslide victory for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming poll.
Speaking at the meeting in Lagos, the delegation requested, as part of its strategic programmes of reaching out to diverse and teeming electorate in Lagos State, that Kalu leads and actively participates in the house-to-house and market campaigns for the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket, and the Lagos State APC governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the forthcoming elections, to canvass and harmonise the support of Lagosians, who are of Igbo extraction.
In his response, the former governor thanked the delegation for their efforts in championing the presidential campaign among the youths and other stakeholders.
He said: “I’m impressed with the support the youths are giving President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in their efforts to reposition the country.
“As you have requested, I’m promising you to join your team and other stakeholders, to mobilise Ndigbo in Lagos for the re-election bid of president Buhari and the APC governorship candidate, Sanwo-Olu.
“I task your committee to continue the good works for the sake of the party and Nigeria in general.”
The former governor was later presented with souvenirs branded with pictures of president Buhari and vice president Osinbajo and the APC logo by the committee.
The delegation was led by Kunle Oyewumi, Lagos state Coordinator and members: Ahmed Agbabiaka, Ahmed Shomoye, Ibrahim Alli-Balogun, Akinfolarin Razaq and Femi Omoboye.
