The All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leaders in 332 wards of Osun State have embarked on the door-to-door campaign to mobilize youths and students for the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and his vice, Kashim Shettima.

Addressing the youths at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign office in Osogbo yesterday the Chairman of the Directorate of Youth and Student Mobilization of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Osun, David Asalu, said the youths are striving to ensure that Osun contributes a significant amount of votes to the pool of votes that will make Tinubu president.

He said, “understanding that youths and students form a large and critical percentage of the voting population, we as a directorate are aware of the enormity of the task ahead of us and are therefore committing all of our capacity to ensure that we interface with ever youth group, youth organization or youth stakeholder anywhere they may be in the State.

Asalu explained that the youths are out to let people know that Tinubu has proved his political mettle over the years and has shown beyond misconception, that he can run a Federal Government that will deliver good dividends of democracy to the people.

“Our interaction is geared towards debating these enormous tasks ahead of us to identify the areas where we may be lacking capacity and forging practical solutions to the problems we identify.

“Our gathering also served to establish a great relationship between the Youth and Student Mobilization Directorate and youth leaders who will be dealing directly with youths in the respective wards. A cordial relationship will help us in no small measure to achieve success with the project on our hands,” Asalu added.

The Secretary of the Directorate, Demola Adeyeye, explained that the meeting was to review the activities of the directorate with relevant stakeholders to improve its relationship with the youth population in the state ahead of the general elections.

He said, “we have been meeting different youths groups and organizations on the need to buy into the Tinubu-Shettima project, and the response we are getting is very encouraging. We are now ensuring that every polling unit in Osun is adequately covered,” he added.
