A new Commandant has been appointed for the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, Nigeria.
He is Air Vice Marshal Lawal Shittu Alao.
He takes Air over from Air Vice Marshal Suleiman Abubakar Dambo who retired from service after 35 meritorious years.
Until his appointment, AVM Alao, was the Chief of Administration at the headquarters Nigerian Air Force, in Abuja.
Born, on June, 1, 1966, the new commandant who hails from Oyo State, enlisted into the Nigerian Air Force on 1st June 1984 as a University cadet and commissioned on September, 11, 1986.

Alao, who is the 22nd, Commandant of the prestigious College, is a recipient of the Commander -in- Chief award at the National Defence College Abuja as the Best All Round Participant of course 18, National Defence College Abuja.

An alumnus of Air Force Command and Staff College Indonesia where he won the Mayangkara Award as the Best Foreign student, Alao has held several appointment namely Instructor Supply School, Technical Training Group Kaduna, Officer in Charge supply squadron Headquarter Nigeria Air Force Camp Abuja, Director National and Military Strategy Nigerian Defence College Abuja.

At a brief ceremony held for the Handing and taking at the College, Alao, while soliciting support from officers and men to move the college forward, commended his on his achievements on the standard the College has attained and promised to build on it even as he wished his predecessor a peaceful retirement.
