A topshot of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State, Abdulazeez Adekunle, popularly known as Kunle Poly, has admitted that there is no rift whatsoever between him and the incumbent Chairman of the union in the state, Musiliu Akinsanya, fondly called MC Oluomo.
Recall that the duo of MC Oluomo and Kunle Poly had always engaged in what can be called supremacy battle which was, however, escalated by the vacancy created by the exit of the former boss of the state chapter of the union, Tajudeen Agbede. Incidentally, MC Oluomo emerged as the Chairman of the State Chapter of the union, leaving Kunle Poly as a Branch Chairman in Lagos Island.
Kunle Poly has, however, debunked rumours suggesting that he is still at loggerheads with MC Oluomo. In a trending video online, Kunle Poly said “Oluomo is my boss and I have since accepted to work with him and his team, for the success of the union in the state.”
He has also said that the NURTW is doing all humanly possible to fight the Covid-19 pandemic through taking necessary precautions at motor parks.
Kunle Poly, who had a low key birthday celebration recently, told journalists that he made donations to orphanage homes as well as gave to some other less-privileged people in his immediate community, as he has always done to mark his birthday every year.
Speaking at the low-key birthday celebration in his Lagos home, he said: “All of us at the union are so bothered about the issue of Covid-19 because it has really crippled the economy and everyone is affected. We can only continue to take the necessary precautions so that we can finally overcome the virus in no distant time. Across our parks, we have insisted that there should be running taps and soap for people to wash their hands regularly and we are sure members are keeping to that.”
