Recent insider revelations of Aso Rock, Nigeria’s seat of power, by Reuben Abati, have confirmed long held fears that the Villa is a troubled house.  Abati, spokesman of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, had written that creepy demons were co-tenants in the Villa.

Apart from the worry about personal tragedies inflicted on occupants of Aso Rock, particularly that sickness that afflicted the loins of the men folk, making them spectators in ‘the other room’, Nigeria has been the worst loser. Otherwise, how come virtually every government that occupies the Villa suffers from amnesia of ideas and incapacity to deliver on simple expectations of the people?

Abati may have unwittingly given government officials excuse to explain away their ineptitude and kleptomania but Nigerians refuse to be convinced. Therefore, if Aso Rock must be demolished for government to perform, so be it. If its officials must vacate Aso Rock and live among us, the lesser mortals to be able to deliver so be it. If they must resign and handover the reins of governance to the demons for Nigeria to excel, so be it. After all, between them and the touted demons, we do not know who actually has greater influence over affairs.

Nigeria, we all know, has been in the doldrums for far too long, no thanks to the confraternity of Satan at work, which incapacitates Nigerian leaders to restrain the demonic urge to rape and loot the land. They belong to all manner of cults and secret societies that demand incessant flow of blood only to blame demons, who may have come for their share of the cake.

When ministers and officials try to procure unholy judgements in their favour, is it Aso Rock demons that send them? When judges are hunted down like common criminals in the dead of the night, is it Aso Rock demons that garb them in DSS fatigue? When security operatives plant exhibits to incriminate suspects, is it Aso Rock demons? When the elite choose to create mini-banks to horde estacodes in their bedroom, is it Aso Rock demons? When people choose to convert their hard earned savings of fifteen years to hard currencies, is it Aso Rock demons? When power brokers plant naira in farms instead of cassava or dollars in cesspits instead of faeces, is it Aso Rock demons? When they give and receive mere N50 million as Christmas gift, did they share it with Aso Rock demons? Is it Aso Rock demons that define stealing as different from corruption? Is it Aso Rock demons that took them to America to defend the indefensible that looted funds were not as confessed by the looters?

Spare me this trash about Aso Rock demons. There are demons everywhere, especially for those who make themselves willing tools. For instance, the driver, who arranged the kidnap of his benefactor and employer, had her raped and buried alive, does he know the road to Aso Rock? How about the buffoon that sacrificed his children as appeasement to his occultic father? Dame patience Jonathan survived the demons after several surgeries in Germany but Stella Obasanjo did not, unfortunately. Life is a mixed bag not authored by demons. Maybe it was the fear of the demons that made Jonathan to concede defeat to Buhari in the highly rigged 2015 election, as now confirmed by the northern elite? So, gentleman Jona was actually escaping for dear life whereas the world celebrates him for love for motherland?

The Aso Rock demons are not done yet. A battle of rooms and cabal has taken over, distracting us from the lacklustre performance of government. Now domestic discourse has found vent in the international arena, has this helped our land? If Aisha is confined in only three rooms of Aso Rock mansion, who are occupants of the rest, Buhari and his cabal or demons or both?

Abati could be accused of hallucinating or merely proffering excuses for our fumbling governments. Was Abati himself in Aso Rock when DSS dumped him in their gulag? No man fails whose heart is trailed on success. A government that operates from the narrow prism of absolutism has failed already. Because only God, not this government as portrayed, is absolute and only God can tame both man and demons if we let him.

We would be willing dupes if we succumbed to the jazz that there is demon anywhere near Aso Rock villa. This is not to deny that demons indeed exist but to say we ascribe to them more powers than they truly wield. The only demons we have in the Villa today are heightened cronyism and nepotism; hatred and tribalism. And treating other nationals with disdain and selective template. We can easily overcome all of these if we are willing, whether we live in Aso Rock or downtown Mararaba slum.

If indeed there are such powerful demons in Aso Rock, it is probably because the inhabitants are themselves filthy. Politicians do a lot of awful things and sell their conscience to the devil to get power. How do they expect to have peace when it has been decreed that there shall be no peace for the wicked? There is no free launch anywhere, not even the devil can give you anything for free just like that. What is the covenant behind your power or wealth?

It is not about luxuriating in affluence and the influence of the mega power of your gilded office; it is about what may remove sleep from your eyes thereafter. It is not about patronising compromised pastors, imams and marabouts, even babalawos and mamalawos; it is about rectitude.

There will continue to be blood on the forecourt of Aso Rock; babies will continue to cry until the unfortunate victims violently crushed in the rush to power are pacified. I am shocked that fallen ‘ministers of the God’ are brought to the villa for cleansing polluted grounds without first cleansing the hearts of their hirers. Fools, even if you wash off the blood on the forecourt, what happens to the scent in the air or the blood of Abel crying from the soil? God is not mocked.

Let us, therefore, not only demolish Aso Rock for it was built on the foundation of blood. Let us also demolish the altars of Baal in our hearts and the hearts of those who rule us. Let us demolish and reconstruct all the endangered rickety structures, holding Nigeria together before they snap and crash on our heads. Unless this is done, Aso Rock demons will remain active. They will continue to cripple the loins of our men no matter our flippant retort about the other room. And Nigeria will implode or remain ever comatose until it pleases the Lord to give us a man after His own heart.
