The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has vowed to unify the country if voted in as President comes February 25.

Abubakar, who stated this at the Ox-Bow Lake Pavilion, Yenagoa during the presidential campaign rally, said Nigeria has not been this divided since the present administration of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) came into power.

According to him, he is going to work to restore the glory of Nigeria back to the form it was before the APC government took over.

“I will restore security in this country. I will also restore the economy and Resource Control. Between 1999 and 2015, Nigeria had the best economy and became the largest in Africa. But today the All Progressives Congress Party government has brought it down. When we come into power, we will restore the economy and uplift the living conditions of the people,” he said.

He also promised to ensure the issue of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is completely resolved.

Atiku also promised to restructure the country and give Niger Delta region the needed attention to get what they deserve.

In his remarks, the governor of Bayelsa, Senator Douye Diri, said the only presidential candidate that has made his intention known on Resource Control and Restructuring of the country is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
