The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, played host to the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, when the latter visited his palace in Daura Emirate.

The PDP presidential candidate was in Daura, Katsina State, home of President Muhammadu Buhari atsina, to commiserate with the Emir following recent bandits’ attacks on the people of the emirate, and to seek support and endorsement of the royal father.

The Emir thanked him for being thoughtful enough as Atiku went on to state his plans for Katsina State and it people, citing his relationship with the Yar’adua family.

Atiku spoke of his plans to use education to ameliorate the Almajiri crisis besieging the state and the emirate, which had over time, become a menace.

He stated that, the Almajiri challenge could be the cause of the banditry being experienced by the people of the emirate over time.

The Emir blessed Atiku and endorsed him as the next president of Nigeria.

Atiku then proceeded to Muhammad Diko Stadium in the town which had been literarily shut down on his arrival. He was received by jubilant supporters that could not wait for February 16 to come.
