Geoffrey Anyanwu, Awka
It was a landslide victory for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in Anambra State as he has won in all the 19 local governments where results have been collated.
It remained only two local governments for the presidential election result collation in Anambra to be completed.
With the results collated, the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano; Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige; presidential candidate of Young People’s Party (YPP); incumbent Senator for Anambra South, Dr. Andy Uba, and the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye all lost in their local governments.
Some of the results collated by state Collation Officer: Prof. Francis Ogbonnaya Otunta, Vice Chancellor Michael Okpara University, Umudike, showed that Atiku/Peter Obi ticket gave the PDP good margin of votes in the election.
