History was made on Thursday 10 of December in Abuja, as Nigerians from all walks of life, converged on Sheraton Hotel Abuja where leadership award organised by the African Union in collaboration with ECOSCC bestowed on eminent Nigerians awards of excellence.
Among the dignitaries that received the award was Eze Ndi Igbo Ghana, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu who was recognised and honoured as Diaspora Personality of the year 2020.
In a statement, Eze Ihenetu dedicated the award to Ndigbo in Ghana. He also thanked Almighty God for his mercies which resulted in blessing and the award bestowed on him.
In his words, the royal father who was represented by Chief Mrs.Chinelo Cynthia Nwokolo.( Iyom Adaejiejemba 1 of Ukpo Ancient Kingdom) the Founder Okpotokpo Adaigbo Niile Worldwide, promised to continue in his service to mankind and humanity in general.
While listing some of his achievements within the year, Eze Ihenetu recalled his engagement with Ghana Trade Union over locking of Nigerian traders shops in Ghana. He said the effort yielded result when Speaker of National Assembly, Hon Femi Gbajabiamilla intervened and visited Ghana over the trade dispute. The Royal father was optimistic that with successful conclusion of Ghana election, the trade dispute would soon be resolved
Eze Ihenetu commended organisers of the event and urges them to continue in their efforts to recognise and honour other deserving personalities in the future.
