Family and friends has said good bye to the late Chidiebere Augustina Emefu, an assistant commander of the Red Cross Society, Lagos State, whose sad and sudden death occurred on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at her resident in Lagos.

Family members, friends and leaders of the Red Cross Society attended her burial ceremony at her home town, Umuokrika Ahiazu, Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

Her elder brother, Alban Emefu, said the sudden death of Augustina came as a rude shocked to everyone.

Emefu extols the virtues of the late Augustina, as a peace maker, who had served God and humanity.

He stated that Augustina’s death has brought mixed feelings to his family and a lot of people.

“I knew her as a child and I will describe her as a very calm fellow. She was a crowd puller, bridge builder and the Isolo community will greatly miss her. She has mediated in a lot of activities. She was a  woman of wisdom and will continue to live in the hearts of all she left behind as the vacuum created cannot be easily filled. She  held so many positions in various organisations and the church, as she ensured that there was peace everywhere she was.”

Service of songs was held on Friday December 5, 2020, by St Mary Catholic Church, Isolo Lagos, at her residence by 4pm, followed by quiem mass.

Her remains left Ogbo Nguru mortuary, Aboh Mbaise LGA, at 7:30am, December 9, with brief lying-in-state in her father’s compound followed by tributes.

Funeral mass, was held at a nearby St Patrick Catholic Church and interre.
