From Judex Okoro, Calabar

The Cross River Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate Sen. Sandy Onor, has stated that Governor Ben Ayade’s rush hour appointment four months to the hand over date is a gimmick to woo people into voting for APC.

Onor, who stated this in a chat with journalists at Ogoja ahead the official flag off of the PDP governorship campaign, said the party has done enough sensitisation to neutralise such antics believing that the people would decipher between lies and truth.

He described the recent multiple appointments of permanent secretaries and daily political appointments as scandalous employment and a flagrant disregard to established procedures, saying it is a contraption conceived to deceive our people and curry electoral favours.

“The people know the appointments are gimmicks, they are giving you an appointment four months to exit even as a lot of them have not been paid salaries. You have to be completely daft to imagine that you are being empowered, you are just being decieved. They are in the market place naked, their strategies are known and they will fail upon those strategies.

“That about 63 persons were appointed permanent secretaries within four months into exit from power show how bastardised our civil service has become. It is now a pure water affairs and an attempt to win at all cost. We can tell you that all these stragies will fail woefully , those strategies will not avail the APC victory.”
