Barely one week to the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Prince Rasheed Ayilara, said he would improve the lot of people of Ojo Local Government area, if elected the chairman of the council.
Ayilara, who appealed to them to vote massively for all PDP candidates said his administration would give succour to the entire people through laudable programmes.
The Estate Management graduate from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, lamented that the local government had been in a deplorable condition for the past 18 years, despite its strategic location in the heart of prominent international markets in Lagos.
He, however, promised to give it a new sense of direction through sound administration propelled by experienced and proven men of honour.
He called on the people to shun sentiments and vote wisely for the right candidates who would deliver the dividends of democracy, adding: “We are not going to disappoint them.”
Meanwhile, the party LGA Chairman, Alhaji Adio Salami, also appealed to the umpire to give all the parties a level playing field.
Salami noted that only a credible election would reinforce people’s confidence in the electoral process and thus urged all the parties participating in the election to maintain the rules of the game and work with Lagos State Independent Electoral Committee for a hitch-free poll.
