Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State  has signed N151 billion 2019 appropriation bill into law.

The budget with N104 billion for capital projects, and N47 billion for personnel and recurrent expenditure represented 70 percent and 30 percent of the budget.

Governor Bagudu, while speaking during the signing of the budget tagged “budget of consolidation,” disclosed that his administration would dwell more on road construction, 40 new nomadic schools and 225 primary health care centres across the state.

“The total budget is N151 billion, which is about $400 million. We have N104 billion going for capital projects and N47 billion for personnel and recurrent expenditure.”

Bagudu, who commended the lawmakers for their prompt scrutiny of the budget despite their serious engagement in political campaigns, said the budget would be judiciously utilised for infrastructure development in the state.

Earlier, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Development, Alhaji Muhammed Zelani Yauri, said the budget was designed to brighten the future of the state as well tap underdeveloped natural resources in the state.

The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Alhaji Abudulmumeen Samaila Kamba, described the budget as the best in the history of the state with large percentage going into the capital projects.
