Tragedy struck in Oka-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State yesterday as a bank security guard was shot dead.
The security guard dentified as Rotimi Olukoju was killed by suspected ritualists at Okia area of Oka -Akoko on his way to his farm.
A resident of the area who spoke on condition of anonymity said Olukoju worked as a security guard in a Microfinance bank in Oka Akoko befihis death.
He said the victim was beheaded by his killers, suspecting that he could have been killed by cultists.
“The ugly incident that happened at Iwaro-Oka Akoko road today where the head of the victim was cut off by unknown persons has turned the town into serious confusion and mourning,” he said.
It was learnt that the lifeless body of the deceased has been deposited at an undisclosed mogue while the incident was reported to the police.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the state police command Mr Tee Leo Ikoro said the police would investigate the matter and ensure that the perpetrators of the devilish act are brought to book in no distant time.
