The Chairman and Managing Director of KAB Constructions, Kehinde Bankole, has revealed his relationship with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, while calling on the political ruling class to improve on governance.
Bankole, during a recent media parley with Triangle News Media, made the disclosure.
According to the political cum business magnate, ”it is good sight to finally see the youths wake up from their slumber as the Nigerian political ruling class has done so little to advance their course. While praising them, he, however, condemned the activities of a few among them who seized the opportunity to hijack the peaceful protest to cause the wanton destruction of properties in many part of the nation.
He explained that the activities of these few unscrupulous elements is a testament of the failure of the ruling class to see to their welfare. In his words, “the few ones who hijacked the process are products of bad governance in Nigeria. The Yoruba will always say that failure to train your child will see to it that the child sells off your prized assets”.
Bankole stated that it is quite sad seeing the various reports of palliatives were being uncovered in various warehouses across the country. He added that these palliatives were meant to be given out free of charge to the masses to cushion the ravaging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Also addressing the need for restructuring in Nigeria and a need to amend the 1999 constitution in Nigeria, he explained that recent happenings in the nation has laid more emphasis on the need to put in proactive measures to secure the future of the nation as a sovereign united entity.
According to him, “the political ruling class must go back to the drawing board to fix the various ills within the Nigerian system.  This is a time when people must come together and ensure that the obnoxious 1999 constitution which has been giving us various problems is fixed. This is a good avenue for us to realize that this country may not be able to continue like this unless it’s restructured.”
He added that it is quite sorry to see our current political ruling class come to power using restructuring to campaign only for them to turn a blind eye to it when they get the mandate.
Also speaking on his relationship with the Ooni of Ife, Bankole explained that the revered monarch is a special person to him and his family. To him, the relationship between him and the Ooni is one of a father and son which is well over a decade.
In his words: “It is one which is about mentorship and tutelage which has really rubbed off well on me. I call him my small god as I cannot tell you enough what he has done for me and what he is doing for me. He is the only living soul who I can ever call my mentor.”
He added that the monarch goes the extra miles in putting others before himself.
