FROM ROMANUS UGWU, ABUJA

THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has assured Nigerians that Super Eagles will record a resounding victory over visiting Desert Foxes of Algeria, stressing that every arrangement has been put in place.

Speaking yesterday ahead of the big match, the soccer federation president, Pinnick Amaju, pointed that the NFF is happy with the morale support from the federal government, adding that the players are determined to confront the Algerians.

Reiterating his earlier position that Eagles are condemned to win in Uyo, Pinnick said: “The attitude they (the players) display is that of ‘yes, we can spirit’ and every other thing is secondary. Our focus is on winning the game and that is why we have deployed everything into it.

Pinnick stressed that the city of Uyo is ready for the encounter. “I have been in touch with the governor of Akwa-Ibom State and I can tell you that the pitch and every other logistics are 100 per cent ready. The pitch is now superb. We have done everything we need to do ahead of the match and can only pray and hope for the best on match day. Beating Algeria will make us comfortable ahead of the double header against Cameroon.”

Meanwhile, the Eagles would tomorrow face Algeria in their new Nike designed shirts.

In 2015, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) signed a sponsorship deal with the kitting outfit and the players are set to debut the kits this weekend.

The NFF signed a three-and- half -year contract with Nike in 2015 that will see the US-based sportswear giant provide products worth $3.75m.

The home kit is a solid green shirt, with white ribbing around the back of the modern crewneck collar featuring Nike’s Dri-FIT technology.

Nike’s Dri-FIT technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts, where it quickly evaporates. This allows players to perform at their best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable.

And Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, a Nike athlete is looking forward to wearing the new kit against the Greens in Uyo.
