The winner of the November 2019 Bayelsa governorship elections, Chief David Pereworomini Lyon has declared that his decision to pick the Expression of Interest and  Nomination Form for the 2023 Bayelsa State governor election on the platform of  the All Progressives Congress (APC) was borne out of the interest to develop the state.

Lyon became the first APC governorship hopeful when he picked the governorship form shortly after the National Organizing Secretary of the party; Alhaji Suleiman Muhammadu Argungu released the schedule of activities and time-table for the 2023 governorship election in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa.

Lyon who is currently the Deputy Director, Contact and Mobilization South- South Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council APC-PCC and Chairman Elders Advisory Council, Bayelsa Central Senatorial District speaking on his governorship ambition promised to do his best to develop the state if elected at the primary and governorship elections slated after the general elections.

He was full of appreciation for the people for electing him in the 2019 elections, urging them to continue to support the APC in forthcoming elections.

Meanwhile in a press statement by Mr Dauseighe Bowei, member, Media and Publicity, Directorate and Tinubu Shettima, APC, PCC, Lyon in campaign stops at constituencies III and IV in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area has called on the electorate to vote for the APC.

Bowei who quoted Lyon as commending the Bayelsa State Central Senatorial Campaign Council led by Chief Davidson Werinipre Seibarugu thanked the people of Southern Ijaw and expressed confidence that they would vote for the APC in February 25.

Lyon who was at the palaces of the Ibe Nanaowei of BOMO IBE, His Royal Majesty, King Joshua Igbugburu(X) and  at that of the Amananaowei of Olugbo Kingdom, His Royal Highness , Clifford Mangiri Amananaowei of Olugbo Kingdom  solicited for votes for APC candidates.

“Let me assure you that with the APC candidates, the path to a better Nigeria and Bayelsa is clear. We must ensure that on February 25, 2023, all votes are cast for the APC, whose presidential candidate is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and for the National Assembly, which includes the Senate and the Federal House of Representatives. Please kindly note that in the Senate, vote for Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe, and in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Preye Oseke”, he said.
