The Prelate, Prophet and Supreme Head Motailatu Church Cherubim & Seraphim Worldwide (MCCSW), Elder Dr. Israel Akinadewo, has charged Christians to act as instruments of positive change in the nation.

In a message to mark commencement of Lenten season by his Special Adviser on Ecumenism and interfaith, Snr. Apostle Emmanuel Olawuyi, Akinadewo, challenged Christians to use the period to reposition themselves towards biblical and spiritual dispositions.

He said: “Let us move away from self-righteousness, self-justification and self-glorification but daily be humble to buttress the undeniable fact that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

He tasked them to create more time for prayers and reflections to become more like Christ.

“Christians should remember that without the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we will still be in spiritual bondage, hence the need to live our life in accordance with biblical injunctions.

“Let us eschew love, abhor hatred and maintain good relationship with everyone we come in contact with.

“Even in the face of intense adversity, Jesus Christ still loved His accusers.

“Therefore, we must emulate this attitude during the Lenten season and thereafter,” Akinadewo stressed.

He asked Christians to commit to prayers for reversal of the biting recession.

“May God Jehovah give us a new Nigeria filled with honey, love, truthfulness, forgiveness and may He heal our leaders from all infirmities, shortcomings, and unrighteousness,” he prayed.
