PANDEMONIUM erupted in Benue State, yesterday, as four persons including an All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leader and three others were killed in two separate crises in Tarka and Gboko local government and areas of the state.

Daily Sun gathered that gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen had in the early hours of yesterday abducted and killed the youth leader of the APC in Tarka Local Government, Aondohemba Kasaar and one other youth in the area.

Sources told our correspondent that the APC youth leader was abducted at Mbaichor area after which his mutilated corpse was later found in the bush by security operatives and later deposited at St Chris mortuary Wannune.

Daily Sun gathered that Kasaar, who was abducted by the herdsmen was later found dead at about 5:00am yesterday at Tsetia village, a development which sparked off violent protest from the youths.

The angry youths were said to have blocked the Makurdi- Gboko Road and demanded that all Fulani resident in Wannunne should leave the area.

Earlier efforts by the secretary to the State Government, Terkema Tergema and the member representing Tarka State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Bem Ngutyo failed, as the youths insisted that the governor must address them.

When contacted, state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Moses Yamu who confirmed the report said normalcy had been restored to the area after the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations moved in with men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad mobile policemen to quell the crisis.

In another development, some armed assailants shot and killed a suspected notorious criminal, Msusgh Tyavyar alongside his friend on the Gboko-Ushongo road, near Gboko town in Gboko Local Government Area of the state.
