Governor Samuel Ortom of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has finally been declared the winner of the governorship election in Benue State.

Ortom who polled a total of 434,473 votes to beat his closest contender, Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled a total of 345,155 votes was declared winner of the election by the state Returning Officer, Prof. Sabastine Maimako.

As soon as the results were declared, Governor Ortom rushed to the Chapel of Grace Church, Government House with his family and associates to give thanks to God after which he is billed to address his supporters at a victory party holding at the Lawn Tennis Court of Government House.

Meanwhile, there is wild jubilation in the state as party faithful and commercial motto cycle riders took to the streets of Makurdi to celebrate the governor’s victory.
