The results of supplementary elections held in Benue State started trickling in from various polling units yesterday evening with Governor Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) maintaining his earlier lead.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that the collation of the results of the supplementary elections would commence at 10p.m yesterday at the INEC Headquarters in Makurdi. The state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Ne- ntawe Yilwatda, disclosed this at the INEC Headquarters shortly after returning from monitoring

the elections across the state.
At the Makurdi Central South/All Saints Primary School Polling Unit 014, the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 49 votes while the PDP scored 75 votes. Also at the Modern Market/Ternamdo Polling Unit 011, APC polled 83 votes while the PDP scored 96 votes. However, at Tse- Hirnyam Polling Unit 002 in Nyiev Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area, the APC scored 149 votes while the PDP scored 86 votes. Also, re- sults obtained from some polling units in Benue South senatorial district showed Ortom leading in the area.

At the Ejule-Adupi Polling Unit 006 in Ward 1 of Orokam, Ogbadigbo Local Government area, the APC polled 42 votes while PDP had 66 votes.

Senator-elect, Patrick Abba Moro, also delivered his Ok- wungaga Polling Unit with the PDP scoring 234 votes to APC’s 19 votes. Results from Ehaje ward 1 in Ogbadigbo LGA at Ukwo 1 Polling Unit 005 showed that PDP polled 101 votes while the APC polled 44 votes. At Ukwo 2 Polling Unit 006, the PDP scored 39 votes to APC’s 17 votes.

Also at Onaje Polling Unit at Ugboju-icho in Otukpo LGA, the PDP got 69 votes while the APC scored 67 votes.
