A former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (rtd) says the agitation for the contentious issue of Biafra by separatist groups from the south east of the county will end soon.
“I am already handling that issue of agitations for Biafra because I am at the centre of it,“ Al-Mustapha told reporters, on Sunday, in Katsina.
Al-Mustapha, who was in Katsina to attend a peace campaign organised by the Awareness for Good Leadership, Peace and Development, said that he was also involved in a project to work out ways to address divisive issues within the nation’s six geo-political zones especially between the north and the south, towards charting a way forward.
“And, this will come to pass pretty soon and will take a new dimension,” he said, adding that, “you will soon see the results, God willing.
“You will soon see it, where all members and classes of Nigerians will come together to identify what the principle of peace is all about all, in the national interest.
“There is the need for more sensitisation of the Nigerian youth, on peace education, particularly at this point in time when causes of insurgency are directly or indirectly being promoted by some greedy class of Nigerians.
Speaking earlier at the programme, National President, Awareness for Good Leadership, Peace and Development, Abdullahi Aliyu Katsina, urged the youth never to allow themselves to be used to destroy their future.
For a more prosperous and united Nigeria, Katsina said the leaders must put aside sectional and tribal interests.
