Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of using the Department of State Services (DSS) to scuttle the trial of Nnamdi Kanu.

A statement by Prince Emmanuel said IPOB hadreceived information that Buhari, through the DSS has allegedly succeeded in putting pressure on Justice Binta Nyako who would hear the case, to feign illness and not attend the hearing today.

Emmanuel said it was this same delay tactics that was used in the past pressurise judges to deliver “illegal rulings in favour of the DSS and in the process, pervert the cause of justice.”

IPOB said it wanted to put the world on notice that Justice Nyako was  in danger of being blackmailed by government, which it alleged, had threatened to reopen corruption charges against her husband, Murtala Nyako, former governor of Adamawa State, if she appeared in court today.

“The tactics of intimidating judges handling this case and subversion of justice must be resisted by all men and women of good conscience and indeed the world at large,” the pro-Biafra group said.

It claimed that Justice Nyako was sighted on Friday last week in good health, stressing that if she failed to turn up to preside over the hearing of the case today, the world should know that  Buhari has allegedly succeeded through the DSS in intimidating the judge as in previous cases.
