The Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) led by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has released the list of those who died last week during its 17th anniversary  march in  Onitsha, Anambra state.
The group on Tuesday September 19, 2016, during a march to commemorate its 17th anniversary,  clashed with  security agents on  Onitsha-Owerri road, where they said four members  died while several others sustained various degrees of injures.
The Director of Information of BIM Mr. Chris Mocha who disclosed this after its executive members meeting at Ojukwu Memorial Library (auditorium), in New Owerri, gave the names of dead members as Okorie Bernard, Steven Uranta, Philip Nwite and Useh Nwokpoku. Those who sustained injuries include Sylvester Udem, Somuadina Peter, Boniface Anachuna, Ikemefuna Anagor, Udebunu Chudelu and Lady Agnes Chikwem.
Mocha also  called for the release of 14 detained members in state CID cells, Awka and 18 others in Army barracks Onitsha, Anambra state. He noted that Chief Uwazuruike, during the meeting, announced the promotion of 25 Zonal Administrators to the position of leaders of MASSOB (Movement for the Actualisation of the State of Biafra) which he said was the youth wing of the group in various senatorial districts in South East and Niger Delta areas.
