Prolific Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola and popular model cum actor, Femi Branch, would lead some past winners of Best of Nollywood Awards (BON) like Belinda Effah, Yomi Fabiyi, Funsho Adeolu, Aisha Lawal and Doris Simeon to Abeokuta, Ogun State, for the Best of Nollywood Celebrity reading session with select students.
Scheduled for Monday September 4 at the popular tourist site, Olumo Rock, the reading and mentoring session, which is part of events leading up to the Best of Nollywood Awards 2017, would be hosted by the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga.
The executive producer, BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, said: “The BON Celebrity Reading and Mentoring Session is a Corporate Social Responsibility of the awards, as it offers a platform for children to aspire to be great people in life.”
He said further that the book that has been selected for the occasion is ‘NO! Don’t Touch Me There’; a book on gender disparity and sex education written by Nomthi, the South African wife of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya. There would also be inspirational talks, photo ops and an autograph-signing session. “We look forward to an exciting time with the kids,” Oloketuyi quipped, adding, “As you well know, the celebrity reading session with primary school students is the first of a variety of activities preceding the BON awards proper in December. The chosen celebrities are past winners and nominees of the BON awards. What we promise the lucky students is a life-changing opportunity to meet with their role models and favourite celebrities and hear directly from them time-tested success nuggets that they need to be better individuals.”
