The Golden girl, Tobi Amusan inspired Team Nigeria to win another gold medal in the 4x100m final at the ongoing Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Combined efforts by Amusan, Rosemary Chukwuma, Favour Ofili and Nzubechi Nwokocha earned Nigeria victory.

Nigeria bagged the gold medal with 42.10secs (African Record, Season’s Personal Best) ahead of England and Jamaica who placed second and third respectively.

In the Men’s 4x100m, Nigeria won another bronze to improve her medal haul at the Games.

Team Nigeria relay team, Alaba Akintola, Favour Ashe, Raymond Ekevwo and Udodi Onwuzurike came third with 38.81seconds, behind England (38.35seconds) season’s best and Trinidad and Tobago (38.70seconds) another season’s best.

Earlier in the day, Amusan broke Commonwealth Games record to grab gold in Women’s 100m hurdles final.

Nigeria’s Ese Brume, Sunday evening leapt to gold medal in the women’s Long Jump final after her 6.99m(+0. smashing the Games Record and also recorded a 6.81m(+0.1) in her third attempt.

Brume won Silver two weeks ago  at the Oregon 2022 World Athletics Championships.
