General Overseer of Mount Zion Faith Global Liberation Ministries Inc, Nnewi, Anambra State, Archbishop Abraham Chris Udeh, has called on the National Assembly to advise President Muhammadu Buhari to resign as the President and hand over to his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo.
The cleric said the reason for his comment was the health of the president, saying “since the President will find it difficult to resign on his own.”
Bishop Udeh noted that it was natural for anybody to become sick as a mortal “but it will be bad for someone to force himself to remain in office against his health status.” I earlier advised that Mr President should consider it a wise counsel to resign on his return from the United Kingdom where he spent many weeks as doctors battled to save his life.
“Nigeria is too hot for someone who is hale and hearty let alone a man who has such health challenges that need to avoid stress of any kind. I think it will be counter productive for Mr President to continue to manage that seat. So, let him resign for his own interest, his family and Nigeria at large. He has done his best. The issue of Niger Delta militants, Biafra agitators, Boko Haram insurgency and the ailing Nigerian economy which has subjected many families in the nation into starvation and a whole lot of other political, social, religious and economic problems cannot be handled by a sick president,” Bishop Udeh advised.
But the Bishop said before President Buhari’s resignation, he has to effect the release of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been in prison for his agitation to actualize Biafra.
“Before he resigns, for his own respect and honour, let him release Mr Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally. That is the will of God and anything short of that will attract the wrath of God. And nobody can battle with God,” the Bishop insisted.
On Igbo presidency, he said those who promote the idea for an Igbo man to pursue that line of action in 2019 or 2023 should call themselves to order. He insisted that the Igbo needed Biafra not Nigerian president of Igbo extraction.
“I pity the Igbo who talk about presidency in 2019 or 2023. They are betrayers. Let them call themselves to order and they are not speaking the minds of true Igbo people. They should stand on Igbo sovereignty, to actualize Biafra for their own good and that of posterity. Talking about Igbo presidency in Nigeria amounts to saying you want to remain in Egypt,” he concluded.
