Motorists in were shocked beyond words following the discovery of four fresh human heads allegedly concealed in a sack bag containing garri along the boundary between Ebonyi and Enugu states.
Daily Sun gathered that the startling discovery was made by security agents suspected to be operatives of Department of Security Service (DSS) at about 10:00am, on Wednesday.
The report had it that the five suspects including a lady (names withheld) were allegedly intercepted in a commercial vehicle along the boundary between Ebonyi and Enugu states.
The suspects, it was gathered, were intercepted during a stop and search operation conducted by the said security operatives who must have been on their trail after the beheading of the victims.
A source, at the scene of the arrest, but pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the suspects were en-route Enugu via Abakaliki and were allegedly heading to Cross River state through Ebonyi state border.
It was further discovered that when the suspects made attempt to runaway from the scene after the fresh human heads were discovered in a sac bag in their possession, the said security operatives shot them on their legs to restrain them from running away.
According to the eyewitness, the human heads were displayed on the highway before the unsuspecting public and motorists who had crowded the scene discussing the scenario.
The security operatives later whisked the suspects away to an undisclosed destination
As at the time of this report, the Ebonyi State police command and state’s DSS command were yet to react to the development as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Jude Madu, said the command has not received signal over the incident.
