THE Defence Headquarters (DHQ) yesterday said it has established a camp to rehabilitate and reintegrate repentant members of the Boko Haram terrorists group.

Director, Defence information, Brigadier- General Abubakar Rabe, who made this known in Abuja, said the gesture for establishing the facility tagged Operation Safe Corridor was in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to winning the war against insurgency in the North and to rehabilitate and reintegrate surrendered and repentant Boko Haram members.

He said when fully admitted into the camp, the repentant terrorists would be given various vocational training to make them useful to themselves and empowered to contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of the nation.

The Defence spokesman in a statement issued in Abuja, appeal to those he described as “recalcitrant terrorist members” who are still carrying arms and killing innocent citizens to repent so as to benefit from numerous opportunities offered by the camp.

This is even as he maintained that the final onslaught against the remnant group of the terrorists would continue unabated. He assured that the military would not relent “until the power of evil forces in the North East is completely neutralized”.
