Susan Esisi, the founder and CEO of Susan Chanel Beauty skincare brand has a tall reputation as an advocate of successful business giving to society’s poor and underprivileged.  On several occasions, the Calabar, Cross River-born cosmetologist has talked about the importance of charity to her and her business. And indeed, when it comes to philanthropy, she practices what she preached.

Recently, Susan Esisi walked her talk when she organised an ‘outreach against hunger’ by giving out Bagco-full of assorted foodstuff to hundreds of poor and needy people in her neighbourhood and those who heard about the event and came from faraway places.

The event on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, was captured in a five-minute video posted on the Instagram page, @susanchanelbeauty, showing hundreds of people queuing to receive their bagco of foodstuff, including rice, yam, potatoes, tomatoes, bean, garri and oil.

Asked about what prompted the humanitarian giveaway, Susan Esisi said: “It shouldn’t come as surprise to anyone who has followed my trajectory way back from my days of humble beginning. Giving to the needy is part and parcel of who I am because that was how I was brought up. Aside from donations to orphanages and charitable causes, I give cooked food or foodstuff to the needy at least once in two months. That is what I am doing today. I even announced on social media a few days ago.”

Asked whether she is being sponsored or she is working in partnership with a non-profit entity, the Susan Chanel Beauty CEO clarified: “It is entirely my effort.”

She added: “I have my customers worldwide to thank for this  because it is from their purchases that I get the resources that I give back to the less privilege in the society.”
