The Borno State government has allocated 5000 hectares of land for the setting up of the Nigerian Army University of Science, Technology and Innovation (NAUSTI) to be located in Biu, headquarters of Biu Bocal Government Area of the state.

Governor Kashim Shettima announced the allocation in a goodwill message he delivered at the 12th matriculation ceremony of the Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies (NAITES), in Biu, on Saturday.

The governor expressed gratitude that the relocation of NAITES from its temporary site in Markudi, Benue State to Biu has provided more military presence in the area, which he said would further strengthen security in the area.
