There was a mild drama in Government House, Awka during the swearing ceremony of the new governor of the state, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, attacked Iyom Bianca Ojukwu.
Ebelechukwu is the wife of the immediate past governor, Chief Willie Obiano, while Bianca is the wife of the later Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. She was also former Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain.
Mrs Obiano walked into the venue while Soludo was taking his oath of office.
After exchanging pleasantries with a few of her friends in attendance, Mrs Obiano walked straight to were Mrs Ojukwu was seating and assaulted her.

Dignitaries who attended the inauguration of the new Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo were shocked when the wife of the former governor Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano engaged in a fight with Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu.

It was gathered that the fight began when Mrs Obiano approached Mrs Ojukwu at the front row where she was seated close to the former governor, Chief Willie Obiano.

The reason for the fight which is currently generating reactions on social media is still unknown.

However, it was gathered that Mrs Obiano, prior to the fight, was angered by other activities at the event.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who was at the scene of the event reported that the incident occurred immediately after Mr Soludo took his oath of office.

NAN reported that dignitaries, including Mr Obiano, were already seated when Mrs Obiano stepped in and moved to the front row where the widow of Mr Ojukwu was seated and slapped her.

The action drew the attention of security agents and some personalities who pulled Mrs Obiano off the hold of Mrs Ojukwu who was visibly shocked at the action.

Mrs Obiano was later taken away and shortly afterwards, her husband left the venue since the incident happened after the new governor had been sworn in.

Mr Soludo, alongside the Deputy Governor, Onyeka Ibezim, took their oath of office in a low-key ceremony.

The new governor, in his inaugural speech, vowed to change the economic fortunes of the state.

About 50 people only were invited for the event, amongst them were the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Victor Oye and wife; Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Uchenna Okafor and wife.
