Bomb explosion believed to have been buried on a road in northeast Yobe State has killed two persons and injured three persons.

Military sources said some Boko Haram ambushed travellers along the Damaturu-Biu road on Sunday. The insurgents opened fire on the vehicles, pompting drivers to manoeuvre their ways for escape. 

“The vehicle sadly stèpped on explosives buried on the road by Boko Haram while trying to flee the Boko Haram shooting. Two people were killed and three other injured,” the source who preferred anonimity said.

There was no official confirmation either from the military or police authority in the state as at press time.

Hospital sources in Damaturu, Yobe capital said three injured persons  were brought for treatment.
