President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura are in early lead over their opponents from the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nasarawa state.
Governor Al-Makura is contesting on the platform of the APC to replace the incumbent PDP senator representing the Nasarawa south senatorial district in the National Assembly, Suleiman Adokwe.
In Awe local government, Governor Al-Makura polled 22, 180 votes agaisnt PDP 10, 699 votes while in Keana Local Government , the governor garnered 9,714 while PDP got 9,141 votes.
The collated results so far announced by Registration Area Collation officers at the Ibrahim Abacha Youth Centre, Lafia from five electoral wards of Lafia Local Government of the state showed President Buhari and Governor Al-Makura having a landslide victory in three of the five electoral wards whose results were announced from Lafia council area.
The electoral wards which the president and the Nasarawa governor won include Makama, Shabu/Kwandere and Zanwa.
