Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, has defeated his major contender, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his polling unit in Adamawa State.

 Buhari defeated Atiku in his Ajia ward ward, polling 186 for APC against Atiku’s 167.

  Meanwhile, the President won his Sarkin Yara ward 003 in Daura, Katsina State, where he polled 523 votes against Atiku’s three votes.

 Also, former President Olusegun Obasanjo lost his polling unit to Buhari. At Obasanjo’s ancestral Olusomi Compound, Unit 22, Ward 1, Totoro area, where the former president cast his vote, the results reeled out by the INEC presiding officer at the polling unit showed that APC polled 87 votes against PDP’s 18 votes.

  The result also showed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) got four votes, while eight votes were voided.

  But the PDP defeated the ruling party at the Femi Okunnu polling unit, Lateef Jakande, Ikoyi, where the APC governorship candidate in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, voted in the presidential poll.

  Atiku polled 53 votes to defeat Buhari who got 48 votes. For the Senate, APC got 57 votes while the PDP got 50. For the House of Reps, APC polled 44 votes while the PDP got 42.     

The unit had a total of 120 accredited voters.

  In Kaduna State, Governor Nasir El-rufai delivered his polling unit 024A, Runka Street, Ungwan Sarki area of the state capital to the ruling APC.

  The result as announced by the INEC Returning Offifer, Abdullahi Sadiq Hamza showed that Buhari polled 182 votes as against Atiku’s 25 votes. In the senatorial election, Senator Shehu Sani of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) lost his polling unit to APC’s candidate, Uba Sani. He polled 51 votes while the APC candidate got 236 votes.
