President Muhammadu Buhari and a former governor of Borno State, Ali-Modu Sherrif, met behind closed door meeting at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, Thursday.

He, however, sneaked out of the Presidential Villa after the almost one hour meeting which took place in the president’s office.

The former Borno State governor who had already indicated he would speak to the press after the meeting, suddenly changed his mind and left through the security gate reserved for Service Chiefs.

Sherrif, a former chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) arrived the Villa at about 2:40pm.

It was the first time both men had met since Sheriff  was ousted as PDP’s caretaker committee’s chairman.

He had met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa on September 22, 2017.

The national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress  (APC) had, last month asked Sheriff, who had interest joining the party in Abuja, to do so at his Ward.
