Senator Owie spoke against the backdrop of Buhari’s appointment of the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) “over and above a better qualified Godwin Seiyefa, saying Mr. Buhari.

Allying with the Southern and Middle Belt leaders, senator Owie said: “I thank our Southern and Middle Belt leaders for their stand on President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of the DSS DG. Before Buhari took over power in 1983, the exchange rate was 90 kobo to a Pound and 70 kobo to a dollar.

However, within five months of that regime, the naira crashed and rationing of food items started and Nigeria’s economy went into darkness.

“Same thing in 2015. Before Buhari was sworn in, the naira was around N155 to the dollar. However, within five months of Buhari’s government, the naira crashed to N345 to a dollar.
