President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed his former personal assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, and upgraded his appointment to Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications.

Ahmad failed to secure the All Progressives Congress ticket for the Gaya, Ajingi, Albasu Federal Constituency in Kano State during the party’s primaries.

He had resigned his appointment to pursue his political ambition as directed by President Buhari.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, confirmed the appointment in a letter of appointment addressed to Ahmad, dated July 20, 2022.

Mustapha said the appointment took effect from July 19, 2022. The presidential aide is believed to be the only one ‘recalled’ by the president since the APC primaries ended.

All the cabinet ministers and presidential aides who resigned to participate in the APC primaries but failed to secure the party tickets had since been replaced by the president.
