Ahead of the presidential election slated for Saturday, February 23, Ogun State APC governorship candidate Dapo Abiodun has expressed confidence that President Muhammad Buhari and his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will win the southwestern state in a landslide.

Abiodun stated this on Thursday during a ward-to-ward campaign tour of Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state.

“We are members of APC and that is the party to beat in this state and Nigeria at large. The Presidential election is in few days and I have led other members of our great party to seventeen local governments, including this one, to propagate the name of our party and seek for people’s support. We must make Osinbajo, who is from Ogun State, proud with our votes,” the governorship candidate said.

He urged the people to disregard those trying to use the name and picture of Buhari to promote their party, stating that “they are deceitful and hopeless with their party.”

He assured the people that his administration would be people-oriented, saying he has made plans to implement populist policies and programmes.

Abiodun promised to reconstruct the Imodi-Mosan road, to connect other major towns in Ijebuland and also upgrade the stool of Olumodi of Imodi, if elected.

Meanwhile, traditional rulers in the local government, led by the Alaye of Odogbolu, have endorsed Abiodun as governor.
