Buhari’s 2nd term: How president can run inclusive govt among zones
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Nweke Samuel Chinonso

As a child that was born in the North Central part of Nigeria, Lafia in Nassarawa State to be precise, I grew up with Muslim kids in a Muslim dominated neighborhood. We played, we fought, we laughed, we visited each other, in fact, we did all sorts of things together. I grew up believing we are all one. After all, that was how my parents had always portrayed it. During Islamic festivals, our Muslim neighbors and brothers will bring various kinds of meal to our house and during Xmas or other Christian celebrations we don’t hesitate to reciprocate. Then as kids, we used to wait curiously for another Islamic celebration so we can eat a lot of meat. That was how fun it was at that time.

Nowadays, the story is gradually changing. Some of our politicians have succeeded in turning us against one another. We are now living like cats and dogs as a result of the disingenuous actions of some politicians who cynically exploit our ethno-religious polarity. They manipulate us by making us believe we are different in all respects. They tell us cynically untrue stories about our history. They push us far apart so they can achieve their selfish desires. The pertinent truth remains that there is great strength in our plurality. As a multicultural society, we can capitalize on our diverse orientation and gifts to salvage our dear nation. Multiculturalism is a source of diverse knowledge and experience.

It increases creativity, innovation and prosperity. Different race or ethnic groups are known for different things. For instance, the Igbos are known for their ingenuity in doing business, the Yorubas are known for their artistic prowess, and the Hausa-Fulanis are known for agriculture. If we blend our diverse experience and knowledge constructively, we’re definitely going to become the giant of the world.

Unfortunately, some of our politicians have continued to sow divisive seeds in our minds. They keep telling us the reason for our leadership failure lays in our diversity. They tell us we can’t succeed together. They make us believe we are responsible for each others problems. Consequently, they end up sowing distrust and hatred in our minds. Now we’re in the middle of nowhere struggling like a blind man without a staff. Today, nothing seems to be working because some groups are directly or indirectly marginalized, and are not positioned or allowed to make relevant contributions for the progress of the country.

The past four years of President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration did not yield so much result because of its clannishness in appointments. A lot of groups were left behind. The lopsidedness of his key appointments and his negative body language towards the South helped to make matters worse.

A lot of human rights group have accused the military under his watch of applying maximum force on Shiite members in Kaduna which resulted in the killing of hundreds. Another horrific scenario was the launching of the Operation Python Dance in the South East which also resulted in several killings and abuse of human rights. Yet, the rampaging Fulani Militias were perceived by many to be treated with kids’ glove.

Now that the Next Level Agenda is about to be unfolded, I wish the president will pay more attention on unifying the country rather than dividing us further. I wish Mr. President and his allies will strive relentlessly to eliminate every atom of hate, division and revenge in running the affairs of our dear country Nigeria. It’s high time the president took decisive steps towards ending the division in this country. This can be achieved by ensuring that his ideas, strategies, policies and political appointments reflect the Federal Character regardless of the pressure.

Nigerians from different parts of the country are eager to contribute their diverse experience and knowledge towards growing Nigeria. So the president must endeavor to look beyond his party in appointing competent hands who can help to actualize his Next Level Agenda. He must also look beyond ethnicity. There are a lot of competent Nigerians all over the world who are willing to help grow our economy. This is the best time to bring them in.

I believe the president has good intentions for this country, but having good intentions is not enough. The president needs a quality team – a team that comprise of creative technocrats and experts from various parts of the country who can brainstorm and proffer short-term, medium-term and long-term solutions to our problems.

Our problems need creative solutions and we’re blessed with sound brains who can contribute to making this administration a productive and fulfilling one. However, it’s important to re-emphasize this point: no race or ethnic group in Nigeria is more equal than the other. No ethnic group is more diligent or patriotic than the rest.

We all are equal in the eyes of God and we all can equally contribute to the success of our dear nation. Therefore, everyone should be treated equally regardless of their ethnicity, religion or gender. Remember, posterity will remember Buhari administration for good if succeed in making Nigeria a better place. When the history of this country will be read by the future generation, you’ll be celebrated as a hero of all time.

  1. Dr Uche Kalu says:

As a matter of fact, as a long as our Overlords and the neo-Colonialist aliens
of the North, the Fulanis and their fucking Caliphate of Sokoto are here in our
fatherland, unity and peace in Nigeria will forever remain elusive.
Of course, muslims don’t ever live and let live. They only live and let die for
    their hereafter.
That goes a long way to explain why the muslims are at war amongst
themselves in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon,Libya, Pakistan,Somlia, Syria,Turkey and in Yemen.
That also explians why such Islamic Terrorist Groups like the Abu Sayef,Al Qaeda, Al Sahaab,Boko Haram,Hamas, Hesbollahs,Huthis and ISIS are on Jihads across the Islamic world and beyond.
Shortly after our Independence from Great Britain on the 1st of October 1960,
the late Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sarduana of Sokoto and the Premier of Northern Nigeria, declared that he was going to use political means to
accomplish what his great grand father,Uthman Dan Fodio started.
By that he meant, the conquest and Islamization of Nigeria from the Sahara to
    our Atlantic Coast.
His minion, the late Prime Minister of Nigeria,Alhaji Sir Abubakar T.Balewa
added that they would dip their Qur’an in our Atlantic Littoral Regions.
The Sarduana of Sokoto thus enthused,” This New Country called Nigeria,
should be an estate for our great grand father Uthman Dan Fodio.
We must ruthlessly prevent change of power. We use the minority in the North as willing-tools and the South as conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future.”
Since then there have been a creeping Islamization of our fatherland.
Thus,in the 1980s, the Fulani/Gwari mongrel,Gen.(rtd.) Ibrahim B. Babangida (IBB) unilterally declared Nigeria an OIC Member State and also declared that
same insolent act of his a fait accompli.
That was followed with the launching of Jihad by the Maitatsines, headed by Musa Makandi.
The Jhadists harassed , intimidated and slaughtered for good measures hundreds of Nigerian Christians in Cities and Towns all over the North, who dared protest against that IBB’s insolent act.
During an Islamic Semina in Kaduna convened by Mallam Muhammadu
Buhari 2001, in his opening address, Buhari declared quote,”In will continue to
show openly and inside me the total commitment to Sharia Movement that is
sweeping all over Nigeria.Allah willing,we will not stop the agitations for the total implementation of Sharia in the country.” unquote.
At the behest of Mallam Buhari, the Sharia State Governors, inaugurated their Nigerian Sharia Movement with Alhaji Ibrahim Datti Ahmed as the Leader and the Raghead Sultan (Sarduana ) of Sokoto as the Spiritual Head.
The Governors also recruited, nurtured and sired members of the Jihadist
Killer Squads, aka Boko Haram as their custodians of Sharia-jurisprudence in
    Nigeria.
The Boko Haram did slaúghter thousands of Christians who dared protest
against imposition of Sharia upon them and lots of Christians were also tried in Sharia Courtsts and were later brutally and publicly beheaded.
Prominent among them was a rich and a devout Christian merchant in the City of Kano,Mr. Gideon Akulaka.Buth he and the others were all innocent.
May Their Noble Souls Rest In Eternal Peace!
With their seeingly loss of control over their Jihadists, who hitherto had killed and bombed only Christians and burnt hundreds of Christian places of worship, the Jihadists have now over a decade been killing both Christians and muslims alike.
But of late,we Nigerians don’t only have the Boko Haram Killer Squads to reckon with.Today under President Buhari, the MACBAN’s Fulani Herdsmen and Militias have launched their own ” Futahat Jihadis Campaign” and are rampaging all over the Country.
In the Middle Belt, the Fulani herdsmen and Militias slaughter daily and cleanse minority Indigenous Christians from their ancestral lands and indeed, with genocidal intents.
In the South, they destroy crops and farmlands, sack our Towns,Villages,
Farmsteds and Hamlets , gang rape our daughters and women folks and kill those who dare stand on their ways.
But President Buhari and his men refer to the above heinous acts of barbarism and savagery which border on crimes against humanity as mere
farmers’/herders’ clshes, justifying the same with the excuse that the herders
are denied their right of passage by the farmers ,which is accorded them by a fucking gobble-dy-gook ECOWA Protocol.
The Pesident himself,is the Grand Patron of that Same MACBAN’s Herdsmen and Militias responsible for the ongoing ”Futahat Jihadist Campaign”.
Our rogue Fulani President,Mallam Muhammadu Buhari and his alein Fulani
neo-Colonialists and their Hausa/Kanuri muslim mongrels of the North do
today have an absolute Hegemony over us Indigenous People of Nigeria.
They do also have absolute control of all the Institutions in the country.
Thus, by de facto, the dreams of the late Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello seem to have
    indeed come to pass.
The Fulanis of the Caliphate of Sokoto have also dipped their fucking Qur’an
in our Bight of Benin Atlantic Coast at the South West. But they still have to do
so in our Bight Of Biafra ,(sorry) Bight of Bonny Atlantic Coast in order to make Nigeria their Estate of Uthman Dan Fodio jare.
But that is gonna be a tall order for the Abokis, because we Biafrans will never
ever let them pass through Alaigbo. No never ojare!
No to the status quo ante bellum!
    Down with Hausa/Fulani Islamic Hegemony!!
All Hail Biafra, our God’s own Land of the Rising Sun!!!
