It is said that weddings brings soulmates closer. One such soulmates are Tolulope Agbeyo, the first son of Dr Babatope Michael Agbeyo, billionaire chairman of Cornfield Group and Botosoft Technologies and his beau, Tolulope Omoworare. The joyful father showcased his affluence and wherewithal as his very enterprising son tied the nuptial knot in a glitzy and glamorous ceremony. The star studded wedding started with its traditional engagement at Five Palm Events Place in Oniru Estate on Friday July 29 while the grand reception took place on Saturday July 30 at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos. The very industrious business magnate pulled all stunts to make a resounding statement at his son’s wedding with a guest list that looked like Nigeria’s version of an Oscars red carpet. This isn’t just a big fat Lagos wedding; it’s one of the biggest, fattest weddings anyone would not forget in a rush.

While Nigerians of all social classes go all out for weddings, the unassuming Ekiti-born Agbeyo’s son’s nuptials set a new standard for over-the-top opulence. Like the regular elite, the traditional ceremonies are roughly the same, and the same array of wedding festivities are spread out over several days — but the star power is a little different. The parents of the bride, Alhaji and Alhaja Hakeem Omowarere were also seen to be profoundly joyous at their daughter’s special and historic moment. At the carnival-like wedding, there were classic performances from three of Nigeria’s notable musicians —King Sunny Ade, Dr. Yinka Ayefele and K1 De Ultimate— to entertain the powerful guests comprising several monarchs, captains of industry, top public officials and showbiz luminaries amidst endless supply of rich gourmet and choice drinks.

The newlyweds met in the UK where they both studied. The groom, Tolulope is the founder and CEO of Botosoft Technologies, a United Kingdom-based IT solutions company.
