Enyimba of Aba, will today, at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, host AS Djoliba of Mali, as they get their CAF Confederation Cup, Group C underway.

The Nigerian Premier Football League side started their campaign against Benin’s Energie FC in the first round and they were clinical by bagging a 5-2 win over a two-legged affair.

There was also a play-off clash against South African champions Bidvest Wits, whom they drew 1-1 away in Johannesburg before securing a goalless stalemate at home. They managed to pass through to the group stage via an aggregate score on the away goals rule as they reached the group stage.

Against the Malians, they will want to keep doing well in front of their demanding supporters and to take the Nigerian football back to the top.

Djoliba,on the other hand faced Rwanda’s APR in the first round and were victorious through the away goals rule after netting away in their 2-2 draw.

Their win set up a clash against another Nigerian side, MFM, whom they beat 1-0 in Lagos and secured a 0-0 draw at home, thus booking a spot in the group stage.

Meanwhile, Enyimba chairman, Felix Anyansi –Agwu says they won’t take Djoliba for granted in today’s Total CAF Confederations Cup first leg encounter.

Anyansi told Sunday Sunsport in Calabar yesterday that today’s game is as important as any other game. “The match against Djoliba is one that we can’t take for granted. Every team at this level is tough and every point is important to us. We know the importance of every game and look forward to putting the right foot to take advantage of playing home first.”
